Short- and long-term effects of caffeine on health and performance

Oh this is perfect! As many of you know we cyclists enjoy our coffee. I find them almost medicinal for a mid-ride refueling pick-me-up.

I should point out that I do avoid caffeinated GUs and other sports food / beverages. Nothing beats a good cup of coffee, time permitting during a break. However on longer / faster rides the ever popular coffee stop is kicked to the curb.

Well that’s a bummer. It is behind a subscription paywall. Guess we will need to wait for his The Drive podcast to come out to get more details.

In the meantime I will continue to down coffee on my rides and look for other articles.
