Update: Ride Across America 2 Cure Cancer – Postponed

My name is Jack Pouchet. I hope you can join me by supporting my mission to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and provide the care and support for those affected by this deadly disease including individuals who have been diagnosed, as well as their family and friends. I know what they are going through having lost parents, relatives, and numerous friends and business acquaintances to cancer. In one way or another cancer impacts us all. For more on why I do this see Why.

Goal $50,000 raised by Spring 2027

UPDATE: Originally planned for Spring of 2026. Unfortunately in late October 2026 (between October 25 and 27th) my body let me know there was something wrong with my back. See that didn’t go as planned. So I had to cancel the 2026 ride in order to undergo extremely necessary back surgery.

I plan on riding 3,000 miles across America from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL as a fundraiser for the City of Hope. Please contribute via their portal. You may do so in honor of a loved one or just in support of my effort. This is a ride I have wanted to do for years and now have the time, fitness, passion, and purpose to complete.

Why City of Hope?

I chose them because of their innovative cancer research that aims to accelerate the time between lab to practical treatment, even if experimental. We all need hope and City of Hope provides much needed support to not only cancer patients but their family and friends as well. Trust me, having watched loved ones battle cancer, specially near end-of-life we all need compassionate experts by our sides to help us understand how to deal with this extremely difficult and emotional time.

The Route / Guide

I am doing this ride with and through the excellent logistical services of Cycle of Life Adventures who have been leading tours, rides, and Epic Adventures, like this Ride Across America, via the Southern Route for years.

They let me focus on the riding and fund raising. You can follow my training and adventures here where once the ride starts I will post updates daily.

Starts with the Bike and Shop

A shout out to all the fine people at Pure Ride Cycles in Lake Forest, CA who have been outfitting me and my wife for years and supporting the community with rides, training, workshops, world-class service, and race logistics.

Although I am currently training on my wonderful Trek Project One Madone, aka the Red Rocket, I do hope to find another Trek for this ride. A one-way bike that I plan to donate once I reach Florida.
