One More Trip Around The Sun

Funny how we make a big deal about birthdays. I know I have certainly been a great example of that kid who can hardly wait for their birthday. A bundle of nervous energy waiting to pounce on anything that looks like a card in the mail, a gift, and oh anyone coming to a birthday party better be prepared.

But now that the double digits are climbing the excitement begins to wane. For one, when it comes to ‘gifts’ what I want is more time with my friends, family, and the opportunity to do more of what I love. Like ride my bike, train and plan for next year’s RAAM2CC.

So I did just that on my birthday – I went for a 74.5 mile epic bicycle ride with a good buddy who happens to be fully retired, having a birthday in a few days, is a year older and way more fit on a bike than me.
