Wow, an incredible fortuitous chain of events led to me enjoying a small group dinner just outside of Santa Barbara, CA with Barbara Edelston Peterson, life-long athlete, innovator, and wonderful human being who happens to be the founder of Whole Champion Foundation.
How did this happen? Well I was on may way today to attend a NICA coaches clinic at a remote, wilderness camp. A camp made possible in large part by the kind people at Trek.
Arrived early so I got in a good hour of Z4 lactate threshold training. Of course my VO2 max score shot up. Love that training effect.
While socializing pre-dinner I get introduced to Barbara by way of her saying – I founded NORBA. What?! Shut the door. I raced many of the NORBA series SoCal events for years.
Turns out we have a great deal in common. So glad to have met her. Know about to devour two of her books. The premise fits me well.
I hope to be able to use many of these principles in my Ride Across America 2 Cure Cancer.
